I
north/northwest. It is about .007'/ft in the area of MW-1, 2, & 3, but flattens to
about .0055`/ft. from MW--4 north. This minor change in slope may be due to the
effect of the building which is adjacent to the 3 new wells. TABLE IV summarizes
the depth to water in all of the wells since monitoring began. It has ranged from an j
average low of 9.12' in December 1995 & 1999, to an average high of 6.39' in April,
1988. The average for the 13 sampling events is 7.80' bgl. The top of the well
screens in all 6 wells is 5` bgl, so the results of the laboratory analyses are considered
to be representative of conditons in each well.
To assist in analyzing soil and water contamination beneath the site, we have
included the following tables:
TABLE I- Laboratory results of soil samples taken from MW #1, #2, & #3.
TABLE II- Laboratory results of soil & water samples from SB-1, 2, & 3.
TABLE III- Laboratory results of soil & water samples from Geoprobes 1, 2, & 3.
TABLE IV- Depth to water in monitoring wells.
TABLE V- Laboratory results of soil samples from MW-4, 5, & 6.
TABLE VI- Laboratory results of water samples from MW-1.
TABLE VII- Laboratory results of water samples from MW-2.
TABLE VIII- Laboratory results of water samples from MW-3.
TABLE IX - Laboratory results of water samples from MW-4, 5, & 6.
TABLE V summarizes the results of soil sample analyses from MW-4, 5, & 6. MW-4
was placed near the southeast corner of the building a short distance from GP-3.
BTEX &TPHg was detected in soil samples at 11' & 17', and BTEX in a water sample
from that soil probe. MTBE was also detected, but was not confirmed. The soil
sample taken at 5' from MW-4 was non-detect for all substances analyzed. The soil
sample at 10' revealed the presence of BTEX &TPHg; oxygenates were ND. The soil
sample at 15' showed only xylenes to be present. The sample taken at 20' was ND
for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene &TPHg. Xylene was measured at .0068 mg/Kg,
and MTBE at .012 mg/Kg. The sample at 25' showed .0065 mg/Kg of xylene; all
others were ND. The water sample taken from MW-4 (TABLE M measured 0.6
ug/L of benzene, 2.0 ug/L of ethylbenzene, 0.8 ug/L of toluene, 16 ug/L of xylene,
224 ug/L of TPHg, and 49 ug/L of MTBE.
The soil samples taken from MW-5at 5 , 10', 15', 25', & 30' were all ND for BTEX &
TPHg. MTBE was detected only in the sample at 25'; all others were ND. The water
sample taken from MW-5 contained measurable amounts of BTEX, TPHg, and MTBE.
Refer to TABLE V for details.
Soil samples taken from MW-6at 5', 10', 15', 20'1 & 25' were all ND for BTEX &
TPHg. However, MTBE was detected in samples at 10', 15', 20', & 25'. The water
Win. J. Hunter&Associates 5
