Fremont Street
Stockton CA 95205
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJC/EHD) has reviewed Subsurface
Investigation Work Plan (Work Plan ) dated October 2, 2007 submitted on your behalf by ATC
Associates, Inc. (ATC) and has the following comments .
ATC proposes to install four groundwater monitoring wells down-gradient of your site to
continue the investigation of the vertical and lateral extent of the petroleum hydrocarbon
contamination . Two wells will be built to approximately 60 feet below surface grade (bsg)
with 20 feet of screen to intercept first groundwater. Two wells will be built to approximately
90 feet bsg with 5 feet of screen to investigate the groundwater at the intermediate zone .
The wells will be located southeast of your site , south of Fremont Street.
SJC/EHD approves the proposed groundwater monitoring wells with the recommendation
that the borings for the intermediate depth wells be continuously cored at depth to ensure
placement of the screen over an appropriate water-bearing interval.
Please proceed with submittal of a San Joaquin County Well Permit Application , required
$89.00 permit fee, $294 .00 permit inspection fee and necessary access agreements . The
fieldwork should be completed no later than December 21 , 2007; a report of findings is due
for submittal to SJC/EHD within 60 days following completion of the fieldwork.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran , REHS , Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan , Senior REHS Nuel C .
