(ATC) and has the following comments .
The Report documents site fieldwork that was conducted in November 2004. A total of
eight additional groundwater monitoring wells were installed as part of the continuing investigation
of this site. At the date of the Report, six of those new wells had been developed and sampled; all
had detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons .
During the drilling of the boreholes for the new wells soil samples for analysis were collected , The
deepest samples analyzed were 90-foot below surface grade (bsg) samples collected from borings
MW-7 and MW- 12. Both of these samples had concentrations of contaminants above the detection
limits, though the sample from MW-12 reported only 0 .010 milligrams per kilogram xylenes . Well
MW-4 had documented soil contamination at 100 feet bsg in a previous phase of investigation .
In SJC/EHD correspondence dated August 3, 2005 you were directed to submit no later than
August 23, 2005 the reports for all groundwater monitoring and sampling events conducted at this
site between August 2004 and August 2005. To date these reports have not been received by this
agency. Please submit them immediately, In addition , it was noted in the same correspondence
that you are required to electronically submit all laboratory analytical reports to Geotracker, the
State Water Resources Control Board information website, but that reports for your site have not
been submitted in almost a year. Please proceed with updating your Geotracker submittals.
A work plan to continue the investigation of the vertical and lateral extent of the petroleum
hydrocarbon contamination at this site is due no later than October 31 , 2005. if you have any
questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
I
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan , Senior R Margateagorio, Sup EHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
cc: James Barton , CVRWQCB
Jeanne Homsey, ATC
Y
