The monitoring well locations are
shown on Figure 3 .
SCOPE OF WORT;
This Workplan has been prepared to conduct a vapor extraction pilot test, ozone sparge test and air sparge
pilot test. Additionally, performing all ozone bench scale test, if applicable, preparation of a site
conceptual model , and conducting a sensitive receptor survey are included in conjunction with the pilot
testing activities. Tine pilot test data will be utilized to determine the feasibility of vapor extraction,
ozone sparge, and air sparge technology and to design a soil and groundwater rennediation system. The
scope of work includes: modification as appropriate of the Health and Safety Plan on file with the
SJCEHD; installation of four soil vapor extraction wells and three sparge wells; conducting a vapor
extraction pilot test, ozone pilot test and air sparge test; soil and vapor sampling; completion of a receptor
survey; preparation of a site conceptual model; and preparation of a report summarizing the results of the
proposed activities. Each scope of work is described below.
Permitting
ATC will schedule field personnel and equipment, notify Underground Services Alert to locate
underground utilities as required, and perform other necessary field preparation and job start-up activities.
A private utility locating service will also be used to locate underground utilities that may be present in
the work areas. A drilling permit application will be completed and submitted to the SJCEHD prior to
initiation of drilling activities.
PILOT TEST WELL INSTALLATION
The pilot test well construction details for the proposed SVE and AS wells were designed using recent
and historical groundwater elevation and analytical data. The vertical and lateral distribution of known
soil contaminant impact in conjunction with the lithologic variations observed beneath the site was also
considered.
Vapor Extraction Well Installation
Prior to conducting the vapor extraction pilot test, four SVE wells (VE- I , VE-2 VE-3 , and VE4) will be
installed using a hollow stem auger equipped drill rig. ri nng will be conducted bicensed
(C57) drilling company. Figure 4, Proposed Pilot Test Well Location Map, illustrates the location of the
proposed vapor extraction wells. Soil samples will be collected at five foot intervals for lithologic j
logging purposes and will be field screened for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with a
photoionization detector (PID). Descriptions of soil types, lithologic features, PID readings, blow counts,
soil-groundwater interface and sample locations will be recorded on boring logs. Selected soil samples
collected during drilling (samples exhibiting the greatest PID readings) will be placed in a cooler with ice
and delivered under chain-of-custody documentation to a State-certified analytical laboratory.
Additionally, sufficient soil will also be collected for ozone bench scale testing. The ozone betnch scale
testing procedures are described in later sections of this Workplan.
Workplan for Feasibility studies — former Stockton Taxi Company ATC Associates Inc.
5:..528349\ V✓P for Pilot Testing and SCM ATC Project No. 54.28349.0001
4
