Figure 3 depicts the locations of the samples collected during the <br /> tank removal event on December 15, 1998 and the December 31, 1998 sampling event. <br /> rOn December 31, 1998 a total of eight (8) soil samples were collected from beneath the <br /> former product piping and dispenser locations by a representative of Precision Enviro- <br /> Tech Analytical Laboratory (Figure 3). <br /> The soil samples submitted for analysis from the vicinity beneath the former UST's, <br /> product piping, and dispenser locations and from the stockpiled soil were analyzed by <br /> EPA method 8015M/5030 for gasoline petroleum hydrocarbons, EPA method 8020 for <br /> BTEX, EPA method 8260 for fuel oxygenates (MTBE, TAME, RIPE, ETBE, and TBA), <br /> ' and EPA method 6010 for total lead. <br /> The results from these samples indicated that petroleum hydrocarbon contamination is <br /> present in the vicinity beneath the former UST's, product piping, and dispenser locations. <br /> Petroleum hydrocarbon contamination was also detected in the stockpiled soil. BTEX and <br /> fuel oxygenate contamination is present in the stockpiled soil and in the vicinity beneath <br /> ' the former UST's and dispenser locations. Lead was found in the soil samples collected <br /> from the vicinity beneath the former UST's and product piping locations,. but at <br /> insignificant levels. <br /> 1 <br /> ' 3.0 Scope of Work <br /> This scope of work was completed to characterize the nature and extent of the <br /> ' contamination associated with the unauthorized release that occurred as a result of fueling <br /> operations located on the subject property. <br /> ' On February 22, 2000, WW, Inc., in conjunction with Frontier Drilling completed two (2) <br /> soil borings at the subject property, one (1) of which was completed to a depth of thirty <br /> feet (30'), and one was completed to the a depth of eighty feet (80') as directed by Carol <br /> ' Oz of San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJC <br /> PHS/EHD) during her site visit at the time of drilling operations. The County's intent was <br /> to drill to the depth at which the field PID registered none detectable levels of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons. The shallow boring was completed in the vicinity of Dispenser 3, and the <br /> deep boring was located in the vicinity of soil sample TK2-S East, the area of highest <br /> known contamination (Figure 4) found from the previous investigation. <br /> ' were collected at 5-foot intervals. Each sample was screened with a field <br /> Soil samples e <br /> PID for the presence of hydrocarbon contaminates. A single groundwater sample was <br /> ' collected at a depth of approximately forty-seven feet (47') from the deep boring. <br /> Laboratory samples were collected and sent to GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc., in <br /> Modesto, California, for analysis. <br />
