Fremont St. in Stockton
Good afternoon Cori,
Jim Barton met with Nuel Henderson and me on November 20, 2013 and discussed closure consideration
for Shell-branded Service Station at 2494 East Fremont Street in Stockton, California. Jim asked that I
provide analytical data for any waste oil tank that may have been removed from this site, and the time it will
take for groundwater to reach water quality objectives.
I have asked Conestoga-Rovers&Associates to provide the time that it will take for groundwater to return
to water quality objectives; once I receive this information, I will forward it to you.
Two waste oil tanks were removed from this site.
• One 550-gallon waste oil tank was removed on June 24, 1987 and a soil sample identified as
Fremont 1 was analyzed for one PCB by method 8080, halogenated volatiles organics by method
8010, aromatic volatile organics by method 8020, and gasoline, diesel, and motor oil by
method 8015.
• One 550-gallon waste oil tank was removed on April 21, 2005 and a soil sample identified as TP-7-
10 was analyzed for halogenated volatile organic compounds by method 8260B, gasoline, BTEX,
and fuel oxygenates MTBE, ETBE, TAME, DIPE and TBA by method 8260B, CAM 17 metals by
methods 6010B and 7471 A, diesel by method 8015M and PCBs by method 8082. The UST
Removal Report is in GeoTracker dated July 12, 2005.
1 have appended the hardcopy laboratory analytical data for the soil samples collected during each waste
oil tank removal for you to review. Please let me know if the analytical data associated with the two waste
oil tank removals are sufficient. If not, what additional sampling of soil or groundwater do you require to
move this site to closure.
Thank you, Cori.
9/26/2014
