CAMBRIA
• Cambria proposes performing aquifer testing in wells S-1 and S-1-85 to determine hydraulic
characteristics of the subsurface. The aquifer testing will also serve as a mass removal event
to reduce the 1,2-DCA mass in the subsurface. Step-tests and constant-rate tests will be
performed in both wells. A longer(five-day)constant rate test will be performed in well S-1
since this well contains the highest 1,2-DCA concentration. Pumping from this well for an
extended period will help evaluate the potential for mass removal through groundwater
extraction. In addition, we hope to immediately reduce the residual mass of 1,2-DCA at the
site.
© • This work plan is not intended to provide all of the necessary steps toward complete
assessment of the 1,2-DCA plum at this site. It is intended to provide the next logical step
toward defining the extent of 1,2-DCA in the vicinity of this site. Based on the findings of
this phase of investigation, additional phases of investigation,if warranted, will be proposed.
WORK PLAN
We propose drilling ten soil borings, installing two shallow zone wells, and installing one deep
zone well. Additionally, we are proposing a records search to identify other possible sources of
1,2-DCA in the vicinity of the subject site, and aquifer testing. The locations of the proposed
borings and wells are shown on Figure 2.
Work Tasks
Permits: Cambria will obtain drilling permit from EHD for the onsite and offsite drilling
locations proposed in this work plan. An encroachment permit will be obtained from the City of
Stockton for the drilling locations proposed on Rincon Street. A copy of this encroachment
permit will be submitted to EHD for their records. Access agreements will be obtained from the
property owners for the borings proposed east and north of the subject site. Copies of the fully
executed access agreements will be forwarded to EHD for their records.
Site Safety Plan: A Site Safety Plan will be prepared for field work.
Utility Clearance: The proposed drilling location will be marked and cleared through
Underground Service Alert prior to drilling.
Soil Borings: Borings SB-19 through SB-28 will be drilled at the locations shown on Figure 2.
The soil borings will be drilled with cone penetration testing (CPT) equipment.
