C A M B R I A
will be collected from boring SB-19 at depths of approximately 40, 50, 60, and 70 fbg for lead
analyses. Soil samples will also be collected from boring SB-20 at the same depths and will
serve as background lead data for comparison to the SB-19 lead results.
Borings SB-20 through SB-28 will be drilled with CPT equipment to a depth of 150 fbg or until
the CPT drilling equipment can advance no further, whichever comes first. The borings will be
logged using the CPT electronic logging technique. The logs will be used to determine, in the
field, the location of coarse-grained zones, which will be targeted for groundwater sample
collection using CPT groundwater sampling equipment. Groundwater samples will be collected
© from all of the CPT boring,except CPT-19. — ;$ 7
Soil samples will be collected from borings SB-26, SB-27, and SB-28 to evaluate shallow (10
and 20 fbg) soil conditions beneath the property to the north of the subject site. We do not plan
to collect soil samples from the CPT borings, other than those described above. Lead scavenger
have not been detected in soil samples collected from soil borings previously drilled at the
subject site. Therefore, it is unnecessary to analyze offsite soil samples for lead scavengers.
A Cambria geologist will supervise the drilling activities. The scope of work described in this
work plan will be performed under the supervision of a registered geologist. Soil samples
designated for chemical analyses will be retained in stainless steel or brass sample tubes. The
tubes will be covered on both ends with Teflon sheets and plastic end caps. Soil samples will be
labeled, entered onto a chain-of-custody record, and placed into a cooler with ice for transport to
a State of California certified laboratory for analyses.
Shallow Well Installation: Wells S-5 and S-6 will be drilled with hollow-stem auger drilling
equipment at the locations shown on Figure 2. The well borings will be drilled to approximately
65 fbg. The wells will be constructed using four-inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC casing. The
wells will be screened from approximately 50 to 65 fbg. The sandpack will be placed from the
bottom of the well screen up to two feet above the top of the well screen, followed by a two-foot
thick bentonite seal, and cement grout to grade. Actual well construction details will be based on
field conditions during drilling. Each well will be secured with a locking cap under a traffic-
rated well box.
Deep Well Installation: Well S-2-85 will be drilled with hollow-stem auger drilling equipment
at the location shown on Figure 2. This well will be installed to monitor groundwater in the deep
zone in the southeastern comer of the site. It is intended to serve as a sentry well between the
source area and the mobile home park well. The well boring will be drilled to approximately 85
0797 5
