CAIVIBRIA
WORK PLAN
Technical Rationale for Proposed Scope of Work
o Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in deep groundwater samples collected from boring
SB-4 Further assessment of the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the
northwestern portion of the site has been requested by the SJCPHS/EHD
e Cambria proposes two cone penetrometer testing (CPT) borings (SB-7 and SB-8) be
drilled in the northwestern portion of the site to assess the lateral extent of petroleum
hydrocarbons in groundwater at depths where they were encountered in boring SB-4
o Soil samples collected from boring SB-5 delineated the lateral extent of petroleum
hydrocarbons in soil to the west of the northern fuel dispenser Further assessment of the
lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil northwest of the northern fuel dispenser
has been requested by SJCPHS/EHD We propose collecting soil sample from boring SB-8
to assess the soil in this area of the site
G Petroleum hydrocarbons were identified in deep groundwater samples collected from
boring SB-4 during the previous investigation Additional assessment of the lateral extent
of petroleum hydrocarbons in deep groundwater is warranted Cambria proposes three
additional CPT borings to for this assessment
Work Tasks
Permits An application for a drilling permit is being submitted with the copy of this work
plan that is being sent to the SJCPHS/EHD (Appendix A) We have initiated the process for
obtaining an encroachment permit from the City of Stockton for boring SB-8, which is
located in the sidewalk adjacent to the site Obtaining an encroachment permit is a two part
process The first part is applying for a revocable permit Our application for this permit is
included in Appendix A After we are granted the revocable permit we are then allowed to
apply for the encroachment permit
a
Site Safety Plan. A Site Safety Plan will be prepared for field work
Utility Clearance Proposed drilling locations will be marked and their locations cleared
• through Underground Service Alert prior to drilling
0797 4
