CAMBRIA <br /> �P <br /> APR 2 0 1998 <br /> �ff l�(?j�f�fEApril 17, 1998 <br /> PE�MIT �T�Iv �� L.7�� / <br /> Mr Michael Infurna <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> PO Box 388 <br /> Stockton, California 95201-0388 <br /> Re Work Plan - Addendum <br /> Shell Service Station <br /> 2494 E Fremont Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> WIC #204-7524-1806 <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br /> Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc (Cambria) has prepared this Work Plan Addendum in <br /> response to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) April 7, 1998 letter <br /> commenting on Cambria's February 28, 1998 Work Plan <br /> r <br /> Cambria's previous subsurface investigation at the site did not define the vertical extent of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in the vicinity of the northern-most dispenser island, near Fremont <br /> Street The direct-push drilling technique used for Boring SB-2 met with refusal at a depth of <br /> 35 5 feet below grade (fbg) The final soil sample collected from Boring SB-2 contained Total <br /> Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPPH) at a concentration of 5,700 ppm and <br /> ND (<5 0 ppm) levels of benzene and methyl-tertiary-butyl-ether (MTBE) Cambria's February <br /> 28, 1998 Work Plan proposed the installation of a soil boring drilled with hollow-stem augers to <br /> CAMBRIA define the vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil at this dispenser island In addition, <br /> this boring would be drilled to determine the depth where ground water occurs beneath the site <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL A ground water sample would be collected from the boring and analyzed to determine if <br /> TECHNOLOGY,INC petroleum hydrocarbons have impacted ground water This investigative approach was based on <br /> information that indicated depth to ground water at this site may be at 55 to 65 fbg <br /> 270 PERKINS STREET, <br /> P4 Box 259 Depth to Ground Water <br /> SONOMA, Information obtained from SJCPHS on April 25, 1997 indicated that the depth to ground water <br /> CA 95476 at a site located approximately 1/3 of a mile south of the subject site ranged from 55 to 65 fbg <br /> in recent years SJCPHS's April 7, 1998 letter indicates that ground water at the subject site is <br /> �4 ° know to occur at five feet below the deepest boring drilled at the site The deepest boring drilled <br /> FAX(7C7 9356649 <br />
