ANALYTICAL FINDINGS
Hydrocarbon Distribution in Soil
Soil samples collected from Boring SB-3 at 40, 45, and 50 fbg contained TPPH concentrations of
3,800, 2,400, and 18,700 ppm, respectively Benzene concentrations in these soil samples were
2 24, <2 50, and 26 2 ppm MTBE was not detected in these soil samples, although the detection
limits for MTBE were elevated for these samples
Soil samples collected from Well S-1, which was drilled adjacent to SB-3, were collected at 55, 60,
and 65 fbg TPPH was detected in these samples at 1,800, 5,400, and 1,600 ppm, respectively, and
benzene was detected in only the 55 fbg sample at a concentration of 0 89 ppm
Soil samples collected from Wells S-2 and S-3 at 50 and 65 fbg did not contain detectable
concentrations of TPPH, BTEX or MTBE
Fuel oxygenates were not detected in any of the soil samples submitted for laboratory analysis
The soil chemical analytical data are summarized in Table 2 and presented on Plate 2 The certified
analytical reports are presented in Appendix C
Hydrocarbon Distribution in Ground Water
Ground water samples collected from Wells S-2 and S-3 did not contain detectable concentrations of
TPPH, BTEX, MTBE, and fuel oxygenates A ground water sample was not collected from Well S-1
because separate phase product was noted in the well after development activities The thickness of
the separate phase product was estimated at 0 01 foot
Ground water analytical data are summarized on Table 3 and presented on Plate 2 The certified
analytical reports are presented in Appendix C
I
CONCLUSIONS
Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected only in Boring SB-3 and Well S-1 in the vicinity of the
northern dispenser island Based on previous investigations and the current investigation, it appears
that petroleum hydrocarbons have migrated from beneath the northern dispenser island to the depth
at which ground water occurs Separate phase product is present (0 01 foot) in Well S-1 located
adjacent to the northern dispenser island
240-0797 5
