05 December 2007
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0327
Page 2 of 8
• Monitoring well installation and development;
• Ground water sample collection and analysis;
• Report preparation.
2.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK PREPARATIONS
Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the SJCEHD and/or San Joaquin County
Public Works Department. In addition,an update to the health and safety plan presently on-file will
be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual.fn-Hazardous
Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration. U.S.
Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985).Prior to mobilization,the proposed
ground water monitoring well and boring locations will be clearly marked and a utility clearance
obtained through Underground Service Alert.
2.2. DRILLING AND SAMPLING
AGE proposes to drill a total of four soil borings and install one ground water monitoring well at the
site for further delineation of the 1,2-DCA ground water plume. Ground water monitoring well
MW-5 will be installed to assess the horizontadowpgradient extent of 1.2-DCA-impacted ground
water, additionally, three soil borings (P-1Y P-18-and 1`41 will be advanced to define the
horizontal, crossgradient extent of 1,2-DCA-impacted ground water. Proposed soil boring and
monitoring well locations are illustrated in Figure 2.
Based upon laboratory results of monitoring well ground water 5ampics collected during the
investigation, AGE proposes one ground water monitoring well and fsoil borings in the following
areas:
• Soil boring P-ITmill be located approximately 5 to 15 feet east of CPT-2, and between 70
and 80 feet southeast of well MW-4 to assess shallow 1,2-DCA-impact ground water
crossgradient (southeast) of MW-4.
• Soil boring P-1 will be located between 55 and 65 feet south: of well MW-4 to assess
shallow and deep 1,2-DCA-impacted ground water downgradient (south) of MW-4.
s
• Soil boring P-IV, will be located between 60 and 70 feet west-southwest of well MW-4 to
assess shallow and deep 1,2-DCA-impacted ground water crossgradient(west-southwest)of
MW-4.
Advanced GCOEnvironmentel,Inc.
