The vertical extent of contamination in soil appears to have
been determined. Groundwater water samples collected at this site evidence contamination. Further
groundwater investigation at this site will be necessary.
Initiate quarterly groundwater monitoring at this site and continue until otherwise directed by this office.
Groundwater samples should be analyzed for TPHg and TPHd by EPA Method 8015M,BTEX by EPA
Method 8020,Oxygenates,ethanol,methanol, 1,2-DCA,and EDB by EPA Method 826013. Some
laboratories can run a complete suite of petroleum constituents and fuel additives using EPA Method
826013,thereby saving considerable cost.
Conduct a complete well survey of domestic, municipal, agricultural, industrial and any other wells within
a 2,000-foot radius of this site. Contact the Department of Water Resources, municipal water suppliers and
nearby industries for well information. Perform a physical search of the area to identify any wells. Show
the locations of all wells and submit any known construction details of the wells. Identify all sources of
information in the well survey report. On a reap clearly depict each well location relative to the site
location. The existence of any other potential conduits should be evaluated. Discuss conclusions
regarding public and environmental health risks as they relate to the pumping influence of any identified
wells and the migration and potential impact of the contaminant plume.
Contact Carol Oz,Senior REHS at(209)468-3440 if you have questions regarding this letter.
Donna Heran,REHS,Director
Environmental Health Division
Carol Oz,Senior REHS Margaret gorio,REHS
Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
cc: Marty Hartzell-RWQCB
Tim Cuellar-AGE
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
