� Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2002 <br /> GREWAL'S MARKET <br /> 4100 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California <br />' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has prepared this quarterly report (first quarter) for 4100 <br /> East Fremont Street (the site), Stockton, California. The scope of work included advancement of <br /> three soil borings, installation of one ground water monitoring well, conducting a quarterly ground <br />' water monitoring event and preparation of this report. The site setting is illustrated in Figure 1. Site <br /> structures and monitoring well locations are depicted in Figure 2. <br /> The objective of first quarter investigation activities was to characterize, assess and monitor <br /> concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and ground water and to characterize ground water <br /> flow direction and gradient at the site. This report is prepared in accordance with guidelines issued <br />' by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region (RWQCB) for <br /> investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites. A summary of previous investigations <br /> conducted at the site was included in Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report -June 1999, <br />' dated 26 July 1999, prepared by AGE. <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> Three soil borings were advanced and one monitoring well was installed in January 2002; a <br />' quarterly ground water monitoring event was performed at the site in March 2002. Field work was <br /> performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the RWQCB for the investigation of underground <br /> storage tanks (UST) sites. <br /> 1 <br /> 2.1. DRILLING PROCEDURES <br /> On 23 and 24 January 2002, soil borings P-10, P-11, P-12 and MW-4 were advanced at the site as <br /> part of assessment activities related to the former USTs at the site; MW-4 was subsequently <br /> completed as a ground water monitoring well. Soil boring and ground water monitoring well <br /> installation procedures for the site were outlined in Addendum to Monitoring Well Installation Work <br /> Plan -July 2001, dated 17 July 2001, prepared by AGE and approved by the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department(EHD)by letter dated 31 July 2001. <br /> _Soil borings,P-10 and P-11 were advanced vertically to, depths of 90_feet below surface grro <br /> as <br /> % .de g) _ - -- . <br /> and MW-4 advanced to 70 feet bsg utilizing a CME-75 high torque,truck-mounted drill rig equipped <br /> with 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers. Soil boring P-12 was advanced to 63 feet bsg utilizing a <br />' van-mounted'Geoprobe 5400 equipped with 1.125-inch diameter probe rods with an attached 2.15- <br /> inch diameter soil sampler.
