06 January 2003
AGE-NC Project No. 02-0896
Ground water samples will be collected into laboratory supplied containers. Ground water samples
for BTEX, TPH-g, fuel oxygenating compound, and lead scavenger compound analyses will be
collected into laboratory-supplied, 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0.5-m1 of hydrochloric acid as
preservative.Following collection the samples will be appropriately labeled, placed on ice and kept
in a cooler until delivered to the laboratory for analysis. Chain-of-custody protocols will be used to
document sample custody transfer from the field to the analytical laboratory. A chain-of-custody
form will accompany the samples.
Detection limits for all analytes will be as follows:
• TPH-g and Methanol- 50 µg/1
• BTEX, EDB, 1,2-DCA, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME - 0.5 µg/1
• TBA and Ethanol - 5.0 µg/1
Deviations from these detections limits will be explained in the laboratory analytical report.
4.3. EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
All sampling tools used for sample collection will be thoroughly washed with a solution of Alconox
and rinsed with clean water prior to use. All down-hole drilling and sampling equipment will be
pressure washed prior to starting each boring.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
