Stantec
SECOND QUARTER 2008 GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
Introduction
July 7;2008
1.0 Introduction
Stantec Consulting, Inc. Stantec former) SECOR International Incorporated SECOR has
( ) Y P ( )
prepared this report to document the second quarter 2008 groundwater monitoring and .
sampling event performed at the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) French Camp
General.Construction Yard located at 401 East French Camp Road in french Camp, California
(the Site; Figure 1).
Groundwater monitoring wells were installed at the Site and first sampled in May 2007. Well
installation procedures and initial sampling results were described in Stantec's document
entitled, "Subsurface Investigation and Well Installation Report,"dated July 3, 2007 (SECOR,
2007a), and submitted to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(SJCEHD). Chemical impacts to soil and groundwater observed at the Site are believed to have
originated from former fuel aboveground storage tanks (ASTs). Therefore, the SJCEHD
referred the case to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) for
regulatory review. This and previous groundwater monitoring reports have been submitted to
the RWQCB, with a courtesy copy submitted to the SJCEHD for their records.
This report is organized as follows:
❑ Section 2.0 summarizes background information and describes previous work
' performed at the Site to date;
❑ Section 3.0 describes groundwater monitoring and sampling procedures including
analytical methods and waste handling procedures;
❑ Section. 4.0 presents groundwater monitoring results and summarizes chemical
iJ
concentrations in groundwater;
❑ Section 5.0 presents a discussion and recommendations; and
❑ Section 6.0 lists references cited in this report.
Supporting documents are attached as tables, figures, and appendices to this report.
1
is is\pg&e\french camp\groundwater monitodng\rmy 2008 monitodng\gmr rpt_fnl.doc 1.1
