Broken Solid Bags- Overpack in a leak proof packaging. <br /> 5.CONTAINER LABELING (49CFR 172.400,.402,.404,.406) <br /> The D.O.T. requires the use of labels,markings,and placards to identify the hazards of the materials being <br /> shipped.These labels are required to identify the primary along with any additional secondary and/or tertiary <br /> hazard classes. <br /> The specifications for these labels are outlined in 49CFR(172.400,.402, .404,&.406). In general,the following labels <br /> will be utilized within the Lab Pack program. <br /> LABELS <br /> x,!I ' D.O.T. Labels -These identify the specific hazard classes.There will be one hazard <br /> class per"diamond".The same label can be used as a primary,secondary, or <br /> { -• i tertiary hazard class label.They are to be placed on the drum next to the Waste <br /> Label. <br /> Waste Label- In general,there are three types of Waste labels: RCRA Hazardous <br /> Waste, Non-RCRA Regulated (Also known as a Hazardous Material Label) and Non- <br /> Hazardous Waste. The RCRA Hazardous Waste label will contain all marking <br /> requirements as outlined in 40CFR 262.32 as well as all D.O.T. marking <br /> requirements outlined in 49CFR 172.300-304.This label should be placed in the <br /> top half of the drum. <br /> MARKINGS <br /> THIS END "This End Up"-This marking has arrows pointing in the up position to signify the <br /> UP <br /> correct positioning of the package.This label is required when shipping <br /> combination packages (Lab Packs qualify) of liquids. Two contrasting labels are <br /> required on opposite sides of the packaging near the bottom of the drum,. <br /> NFZ4RUPUS wntic Container Inventory Envelope- Every lab pack container must have an accurate <br /> inventory of inner contents adhered to the outside of the container,with the <br /> INC14-A process code written on the envelope.
