(Clearwater) and has
the following comments .
The report documents the routine quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling event
that took place on May 30, 2001 . Analytical results show consistent contaminant
concentrations with previous events . In the report, Clearwater recommends the
preparation of a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) in preparation for remediation of the site . In
conversation with a representative from Clearwater, it was discussed that feasibility
studies have not been performed at this site.
California Code of Regulations , Title 23 , Division 3, Chapter 16 , Section 2725(d ) lists the
required elements of a CAP. The CAP must include a feasibility study to evaluate at least
_ two clean-up alternatives for their ability to remediate the contamination and for their cost
effectiveness. PHS/EHD approves moving ahead with—the remedlaat phase o - workat this
site. Please submit a work plan to begin feasibility testing . The work plan should detail
which remedial alternatives are to be evaluated and propose the installation of any
additional wells that will be necessary to carry out the testing . The work plan is due
September 24, 2001
If you have any questions or comments, please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337 .
Donna Heran , REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Lori Duncan , Senior REHS Margaret Lagorio, Supervising REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
cc: Marty Hartzell, CVRWQCB
Brian Gwinn , Clearwater
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
