Bames Trucking Site Code : 2506
1817 Fresno Ave.
Stockton, CA 95206
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has completed
review of the "Subsurface Investigation Report" dated November 20, 1997 that was prepared by
Clearwater Group. PHS/EHD has the following comments for your consideration and response.
The report recommends installation of two soil borings with monitoring wells to further assess the lateral
extent of the contamination in the downgradient direction (south and southeast). Prior to this being done,
PHS/EHD requests another sampling of the existing monitoring wells be done with laboratory analysis for
TPHg, TPHd, BTEX and the five oxygenates (MTBE, TAME, DIPE, ETBA and TBA).
Until investigation and cleanup are complete quarterly reports are to be submitted to PHS/EHD and the
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board. Groundwater samples are to be collected from the
monitoring wells quarterly and analyzed for the above contaminants. The results of the groundwater
samples as well as the information recommended in the Tri-Regional Guidelines are to be contained in the
quarterly-reports
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
`1t
Lori Duncan, REHS Margaret L goREHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
cc: Pat Anderson, Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
cc: Martin Clark, State Water Resources Control Board, Cleanup Fund Unit
cc: Doug Guenther, Clearwater Group, 520 Third Street, Suite 104, Oakland CA 94607
A Division of San Joaquin Counry Hcalth Care Scrvicas
