Gabriel Gonzalez [EH ]
From: Scott < SBittinger@stratusinc.net>
Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2015 1:07 PM
To: Angelica Sandoval Marin [EH]
Cc: Gabriel Gonzalez [EH]
Subject: RE: 1817 S. Fresno Avenue
Good luck with the bambino !
What is the status of the review of the cleanup plan for the site? The CAP was submitted in late September, and the CAP
Addendum was submitted in late December. This is the most important decision that will ever be made for this project
(ie selecting a remedial alternative) . Mr. Barnes only has roughly $270K available to him from the Cleanup Fund until he
reaches his $1.5 million limit. We did our best to pick to most cost effective remedial approach that we thought could
achieve closure within a few years under the Low Threat Policy criteria, but obviously you asked for an addendum to the
CAP due to your concerns.
Gabriel : I have previously asked that if you have any questions about the CAP/Addendum, or have some dispute with
our plan, please contact me before issuing some sort of a letter that will .end up on GeoTracker forever. We have been
going back & forth with this decision for a while now, & given it's importance, I want to make sure we are on the same
page .
Basically, we are proposing to implement an ozone injection project. About 15 months ago, we did a dual phase
extraction (DPE) pilot study for about 1 .5 months. DPE worked 'mediocre', but installing a full-scale system would be
very expensive and would take a long time to operate in order to perform cleanup. The $270,000 remaining in the UST
fund will not be sufficient for a full scale DPE project, and we also will face year to year shortages in expenses needed to
operate a DPE system .
Call me at (530) 676-2062 or e-mail with questions.
Scott
From : Angelica Sandoval Marin [EH] fmailto:amarinCalsjcehd .com]
Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2015 12:32 PM
To: Scott
Cc: Gabriel Gonzalez [EH]
Subject: RE: 1817 S. Fresno Avenue
Scott,
I
I will be out on maternity leave starting the week of February 16, 2015 . During my absence Gabriel Gonzalez will be the
caseload regulator for this site. Please contact him at aasonzalez@s!cehd .com or at (209) 468-3442 .
Thanks
Angelica
- - - Lv
-
1
