The devices are connected to a series of 3-way control <br /> panels, and a regulated supply of industrial compressed oxygen, which is stored inside a secured <br /> cage. The rate of OZ infusion is on the order of 15 to 20 cubic centimeters per minute. Resultant <br /> dissolved oxygen (DO) concentrations in the range of 40 to 50 mg/L may be achieved. The <br /> effective radius of influence of a typical injection well equipped with iSOC is 10 to 15 feet. The <br /> iSOC system is powered by the stored kinetic energy of the pressurized oxygen gas, and requires <br /> no external power sources, generates no noise, vibrations, or remediation wastes. Periodic <br /> exchange of oxygen canisters will be required, and monitoring of the iSOC system, and <br /> groundwater chemistry are being performed on a regular schedule. <br /> 4.2 Injection Well Installation <br /> Clearwater supervised the installation of twelve injection wells (designated "IW-1" through "IW- <br /> 12") on the site between August 9tli and 12t", 2004. Drilling and well installation work was <br /> performed by Gregg Drilling, Inc. The wells were drilled to and set at depths of 25 feet below <br /> ;3 <br /> the ground surface (bgs), and were constructed of two-inch ID PVC slotted screen and riser <br /> casing. A silica sand filter pack was installed around the screened interval of each well in the <br /> _, <br /> boring annuli. A bentonite seal was set at the top of each filter pack, and each boring was <br /> grouted to the ground surface under the supervision of an S3CIEIID inspector. The well <br /> locations are illustrated on Figure 6. Drill cuttings were stored on the site in standard DOT <br /> drums pending characterization for off-site disposal. Clearwater is currently awaiting approval <br /> from Allied Waste, Inc. for disposal of the drummed drill cuttings at a lined landfill. The wells <br /> were developed by Clearwater on September 7a' and 8th, 2004 by bailing, surging, and pumping <br /> -3 <br /> in accordance with standard well development procedures. Well development water was stored <br /> J� on the site in appropriate labeled drums pending characterization for off-site treatment/recycling <br /> at a licensed facility.
