Weber Street, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject: Workplan for Destruction of a Groundwater Monitoring Well at Franklin High <br /> School, 300 North Gertrude Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr. Wong: <br /> On behalf of the Stockton Unified School District, ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this well <br /> destruction workplan for the above referenced site. <br /> The scope of work in brief includes obtaining permits, pressure grouting one monitoring well, and <br /> preparing a summary report. The scope of work is described in detail in the following paragraphs. <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located on the east side North Gertrude Avenue at Miner Avenue, Stockton California, <br /> as shown on Figure 1. Franklin High School currently occupies the site. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Field Activities <br /> ATC proposes to abandon monitoring well MW 1. The well location is shown on Figure 2. The <br /> enclosing cage, well box, locking plug, and top two feet of subsurface casing will be removed <br /> from the well prior to abandonment. The monitoring well will be abandoned by filling the well <br /> casing and filter pack with a neat cement/bentonite grout. A tremie pipe will be placed inside the <br /> well and the neat cement slurry mixture will be pumped through the pipe and into the bottom of the <br /> well. Pressure will then be applied to the well to push the cement slurry out through the well screen <br /> into the sand pack and surrounding formation. The cement slurry in the well casing will be topped off, <br /> and the hole around the well filled with cement to within six inches of the surface grade.
