07 June 2012 AGE-NC Project No. 95-0184 Page 5 of 14 The proposed scope of work will consist of the following tasks: • Permitting and pre-field work preparations; • Drilling and soil sample collection; • Installation and development of remediation wells; • Installation of an updated remediation piping network to the wells; • Active soil vapor extraction and operation of in-situ air sparging; • Monitoring and sampling of active remediation (laboratory) and • Preparation of remediation report of findings. Each of these tasks are discussed below in detail. 3.1 . PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES Applicable site permits will be obtained from the EHD. A City of Stockton Encroachment permit and revocable access agreement will be secured and approved with the City. In addition, an update to the health and safety plan presently on-file will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to mobilization, the area of investigation will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert. 3.2. INSTALLATION OF REMEDIATION WELLS AGE proposes installation of four additional shallow-screened SVE wells to be located near the southern UST release; the proposed shallow SVE well design is depicted in Figure 4. Additionally, AGE pro ses installation of two shallow-screened (45-50 feet bsg) and two deep screened (6}� 0 feet bsg) IAS wells in areas surrounding the former southern UST area and in the ar as of significant hydrocarbon impacts (soil impact with elevated benzene at depths o 65 feet bsg). The proposed shallow and deep IAS well designs are depicted in Figures and 6, respectively. Wells will be installed through the sidewalk of east Miner Avenue, urrounding the former souther UST area.
