(AGE) has prepared a
response to the EHD letter dated 19 May 2009 for the directive to prepare a ground w_ater feasibili
stud or the northen and southern underground storage tank(UST) sites.
1.0. BACKGROUND
The site is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Grant Street and Miner Avenue. The
site is currently operated as Larry's Auto Repair and was formerly operated as De Rollo Mazda. The
property is occupied by a single building with attached canopy and a parking area. In 1987, one
1,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tank (Tank A) was removed from the northwestern
comer of the site. One 1,000-gallon gasoline UST and one 1,000-gallon diesel UST(Tanks B &C)
were removed from beneath the sidewalk at the southeastern corner of the site in 1990.Petroleum
hydrocarbons were reported in soil samples collected beneath each UST.
Performance of feasibility studies are necessary to determine remedial action options for the site.
The upper portion of the site section consists of silty clay and clayey silt with sand lenses
encountered during drilling and soil sampling (including cone penetration testing). The primary
water baring unit, which can sustain ground water recharge, is located at a depth of 60 feet below -boJ4
surface grade (bsg),the current ground water table resides at 30 feet bsg;whilethe-majority of the sum
adsorbed contamination, with aromatic compounds is located thin the( pp r se,4+o f the site. rhw
ss 9
The concentration of dissolved constituents collected in so>iern UST area (MV Srshallow well
samples are greater than the intermediate and deeper monitoring wells (M $and IvW8. The not-56,91
concentration of dissolved constituents collected in northern UST area intermediate well samples mw'/oH,s
are lower than the shallow vapor well samples(MW-1/2 vs.V W):,The maximum concentrations of mk"e<mLvq
the northern UST release area appears to reside in the upper j0, feet of the subsurface as dr
demonstrated by soil and ground water samples. \
837 Shaw Road, Stockton,CA 95215
Telephone (209)467-1006-Fax (209)467-1118 '3 ,VN'"0
