RECOUNT OF SCOPE OF WORK
The following is a list of work plans prepared for remediation feasibility:
• Work Plan Addendum dated 15 December 1995,a soil vapor extraction(SVE)pilot test was
proposed.
• Feasibility Pilot Tests Work Plan dated 16 December 1999, an in-situ air sparging (IAS)
pilot test and a ground water extraction pilot test were proposed to be performed at the site.
• Well Installation and Feasibility Study Work Plan - November 2004 dated 19 November
2004,installation of a ground water extraction wells and a ground water extraction pilot test
were proposed.
• Work Plan Addendum dated 18 February 2005, a ground water extraction pilot test was
proposed.
• Work Plan Addendum dated 29 September 2005,a second ground water extraction well was
proposed.
• Soil Vapor Extraction Pilot Test dated 10 November 2005, a SVE pilot test was proposed.
3.0. PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
Previous feasibility pilot test work plans have been submitted for the site. The Feasibility Pilot Tests
Work Plan included an air-sparge pilot test as a component of the plan;this pilot study has not been
completed. The performance of field scale pilot studies for ground water extraction have been
completed.
3.1. SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION/IN-SITU AIR SPARGING TEST
To determine the feasibility of remedial options at the site,AGE will perform an SVE/IAS pilot test.
The SVE/IAS pilot test will be conducted for approximately 96-hours (4 days). The IAS pilot test
will be conducted by injecting air into a deep, drowned, depth discrete remediation near, the soil
vapor extraction wells exposed to the upper wate} jble. The most compatible well for this air-sparge
application would be well VW-5C, screened feet to 55 feet bsg. This well is to be used as a
sparging well, using a compressor-driven unit. Several parameters, including, sparging rate and
volume,radius ofinfluence,soil vapor concentrations,soil vapor pressures,groundwater depths and
dissolved oxygen, will be measured at surrounding wells.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
