• Connection between outer boots and suit, outer gloves and suite must be <br /> sealed with duct tape whenever polyethylene or Saranex-coded coveralls <br /> are in use. <br /> For operations which require work gloves to protect the hands from abrasion, <br /> sharp edges, etc , leather (or equivalent) work gloves may be worn OVER <br /> chemical resistant gloves Such gloves will be dedicated to exclusion zone work, <br /> but must be assumed to be chemically contaminated once put into service <br /> Upgrades of additional equipment may be mandated by the HSO based upon <br /> conditions or activities Substitutions other than those described in this section <br /> are permissible only upon approval by the HSO <br /> 4.1 ADDITIONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br /> ANSI approved safety glasses with side shields shall be required during <br /> chip producing operations, such as drilling/jackhammering through <br /> concrete. <br /> Splash-proof chemical goggles shall be mandated by the HSO for <br /> Operations presenting splash or splatter potential, such as vehicle <br /> decontamination or, wet drilling operations <br /> (Full face respirators preclude the need for other forms of eye protection ) <br /> Hearing protection.
