Should conditions <br /> require Level B equipment to perform work operations, an amendment to <br /> this HASP shall be prepared which includes standard operating procedures <br /> and training requirements for the use of this equipment <br /> Two SCBAs shall be available In the event circumstances require entry into <br /> an area where air contamination potential exceeds the criteria for safe use <br /> of Level C respirators. This equipment shall be used only by trained <br /> individuals, and an SCBA-trained and equipped standby must be present <br /> any time an activity takes place which requires the use of an SCBA. <br /> 5.0 NOISE <br /> When exposure to sound levels as the field personnel's ear ("A" scale, slow <br /> response) is likely to be in excess of 90 Db for greater than 5 minutes or 85 Db <br /> for greater than 30 minutes, noise protection shall be worn. Thus, a sound level <br /> meter shall be present if these levels are likely to occur <br /> It is anticipated that work within ten (10) feet of a drill ng will be 85 Db or <br /> greater. South level meter readings will be performed whenever obvious noise <br /> sources call for measurements.
