5 -
IN
y
ILEI-J86-031
September 8, 1986
Two soil samples were taken using brass tubes at about 4 foot
depth per Mr. Crooks{ instruction. The samples were analyzed for
lead, total fuel hydrocarbons (THC) , and Ethylene dibromide
(EDB) .
In addition to contaminated soil excavation and soil
sampling, contaminated ponded water was also removed from the
diked loading service area. The ponded water was pumped into 55-
gallon drums and disposed to approved site.
On June 17, 1986 a water sample was taken from well E-2,
using .a teflon bailer. Prior to sampling water elevation was
measured and the well was purged about 10 well volumes. The
sample was stored in a cool ice chest and transported to the
Sequoia Analytical Laboratory. No odor or free product was
detected during sampling of well E-2. Groundwater sample was
analyzed for THC, BTX, FDB and lead. The water table elevation at
the time of sampling was 10 . feet.
On June 24, 1986 one 550-gallon underground tank was removed
and a soil sample was taken under the supervision of Mr. Crooks.
The sample was analyzed for THC, BTX, lead and EDB.
On August 22, 1986 installed cement curb around the loading
service area and backfilled this area with pea gravel.
ANALYTICAL RESULTS
The results of the laboratory analyses are summarized below:
Sample Lead THC1 EDB2 BTX3
Description ppm P P-m- Ppm PL
_--.
