Q
a
KEI-386-031
September 5, 19B6
ANALYTICAL RESULTS, Cont'd
1 THC Total volatile hydrocarbons
2 EAB Ethylene dibromi.de
3 BTX Benzene, Toluene, Xylene
ppm parts per million
ND none detectable
The results of the soil samples indicate very lcw to moderate
concentrations of THC ranging from 13.0 to 150. 0 ppm, lead
concentrations level ranged 5.3 to 12.0 ppm, EDB was non
detectable. BTX concentrations analyzed for soil below the 550
gallon tank were <0.001 ppm. The water sample results were non
detectable level for all parameters tested.
CONCLUSION
i
F The chemical results of the soil. samples indicates low
concentrations of total dissolved hydrocarbons and lead, where as
EDB and BTX were non-detectable. The water sample results showed
non-detectable levels for all the parameters. It is our
conclusion that sufficient contaminated sail has been removed from
the site to;significantly reduce adverse environmental impact to
the underlying groundwater. Although low concentration of
hydrocarbons exist in the soil, we balieve natural biodegradation
and :soil adsorption would further decrease the contamination over
time, thus reducing potential impacts. The soil contamination
appears--:.to=..be.:.localized and in -our opinion- the levels detQated
were sufficiently low that the need for further testing or removal
is unnecessary.` Levels of lead detected is common in. the central
valley and .in other areas of California. According. to the State
Department. of Water Resources, the shallow groundwater in the City
M_-M' '
of Tracy is of inferior quality and is not used 'for domestic
purposes.
3
