SAN J O A Q U I N Environmental Health Department <br /> COUNTY <br /> • Verification of the dispenser footprints contained by the under dispenser containment <br /> sumps ( UDCs) any potential leaks from piping and fuel filters must drain directly into <br /> UDCs . <br /> • Monitoring system functionality : Functionality of the monitoring system must be <br /> verified to ensure that monitoring has been restored to meet the requirements of Title <br /> 23 California Code of Regulations and the Health & Safety Code . A copy of the alarm <br /> history shall be printed prior to performing the " cold start" of the monitoring system <br /> and made available at the time of EHD inspection . <br /> • If concrete will be broken near the USTs and product piping , a secondary containment <br /> test must be performed on all USTs and all product pipes once concrete is poured in <br /> accordance with the manufacturer' s guidelines and test results submitted to the EHD <br /> within 30 days of testing . <br /> Please be aware that the facility cannot receive fuel in E85 tank prior to the EHD <br /> X <br /> nspection and approval. <br /> 4 . Any individual performing the work of a service technician must meet the following <br /> qualifications : <br /> a . Possess or be employed by a person who possesses one of several permissible <br /> valid , current contractor' s licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board <br /> ( may be issued to the installation company) , or a Tank Tester' s license issued to the <br /> individual by the State Water Board , and <br /> b . Possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual <br /> physically present at the work site who possesses a valid , current California UST <br /> Service Technician certificate issued by the International Code Council ( ICC ) , and <br /> c . Possesses a valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s ) of the <br /> component(s) being tested , repaired , or serviced . <br /> 5 . Individuals installing underground storage tank system components must possess or <br /> work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the <br /> work site who possesses all of the following : <br /> a . A valid , current contractor' s license issued by the Contractors State License Board , <br /> and <br /> b . A valid , current UST Installation / Retrofitting certificate issued by the International <br /> Code Council ( ICC ) , and <br /> c . A valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s ) of the component (s ) <br /> being installed . <br /> 6 . The tank owner or operator shall log into the California Environmental Reporting System <br /> (CERS ) at http : //cers . calepa , ca . gov/ and ensure all UST information is current . <br /> 7 . All components must be certified by an independent testing organization and labeled as <br /> required by the organization ( UL , ULC , ANSI , API , ASTM , etc . ) . See California Code of <br /> Regulations ( CCR) Title 23 , Chapter 16 , Table B for a complete list . <br /> 8 . Permit expires 180 days from the date of approval . If an extension to the expiration date <br /> is required , a written request must be submitted to this office prior to the expiration date . <br /> 2of3 <br />
