Close to ten years of
groundwater monitoring data indicate a stable petroleum hydrocarbon plume beneath the site
with no off-site migration. Further, CPL'S operation of a groundwater remediation system
detailed in the January 1998 "Remediation Performance Evaluation Report", dramatically
decreased residual petroleum hydrocarbon concentration in the affected area.
The proposed revisions to Monitoring and Reporting Program No. 96-814 (MRP) reflect our
discussion earlier this year with a few modifications:
01 CPL proposes an increase in monitoring frequency for two wells;
0 CPL proposes semi-annual monitoring rather than quarterly; and
• CPL proposes abandonment of all extraction wells used for the remedial effort as well as
several monitoring wells.
If you are in agreement with the proposed revisions to the MRP, please initiate the modifications
and issue a new MRP. Following you review of the enclosed proposal,please contact Mr. Dan
Lapporte at (925) 842-6718 with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
i
K. L.
