Locations of the wells are shown on Figure 1 The wells installed or refinished before August <br /> 1994 at the site are described in detail in the Geomatrix 26 August 1.994 report entitled "Results <br /> of Phase I Groundwater Remediation Activities." Since this report was completed, Chevron has <br /> abandoned two monitoring wells. The abandonment of these wells is described in this letter. <br /> WELL STATUS SUMMARY <br /> MW-1: 'has not been located since January 1990; believed,to have been buried and destroyed <br /> by activities by unknown persons adjacent to the well. <br /> MW-2: was abandoned on 18 October 1994 for road expansion. <br /> MW-3: was installed in 1989 and is still in service. <br /> MW-4: was abandoned on 18 October 1994 for road expansion. <br /> MW-5: wellhead was refinished on 17 June 1994 with a well cover that is flush with the ground <br /> surface; the well is still in service. <br /> MW-6: wellhead was refinished on 17 June 1994 with a well cover that is flush with the ground <br /> surface; the well is still in service. <br /> r Geomatrix Consultants, Inc. <br /> J„� Engineers,Geologists,and Environmental Scientists <br />
