1 <br /> ' 22 September 2000 - -- - <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 00-0753 <br /> ' Page 3 of 5 <br /> ' 2 13 Equipment Decontamination <br /> Prior to sample collection, Geoprobe soil and ground water sampling equipment was thoroughly <br /> ' rinsed with clean water after washing with a solution of Alconox Geoprobe rods were thoroughly <br /> cleaned prior to soil probe boring advancement <br /> 22 ANALYTICAL PROTOCOL <br /> ' Eight selected soil samples (all ten foot samples and the fifteen foot samples from borings B 1 and <br /> 134) and all ground water samples were transported to McCampbell Analytical Inc (MCAI), a <br /> ' California Department of Health Services certified laboratory, for analysis Selected soil and ground <br /> water samples were analyzed for the following <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel <br /> ' (TPH-d) and total petroleum hydrocarbons as motor oil (TPH-mo) by EPA Method 8015 <br /> Modified/3 550, <br /> ' • Volatile aromatic compounds- benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTE&X), <br /> and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) by EPA Method 8020 <br /> 30. FINDINGS <br /> ' 3 1 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOT-, SAMPLES <br /> TPH-g was detected in the ten-foot soil samples collected from borings B-3 through 13-6 at <br /> concentrations of 55 mg/kg, 2,800 mg/kg, 94 mg/kg and 760 mg/kg, respectively TPH-d was <br /> detected in the same soil samples at concentrations of 12 m&g, 520 mg/kg, 12 mg/kg and 180 <br /> ' mg/kg, respectively TPH-mo was detected in the ten-foot soil samples collected from borings B-4 <br /> and B-5 at concentrations of 9 6 mg/kg and 8 0 mg/kg, respectively <br /> ' Samples 134-10 and 136-10 contained benzene at 6 3 mg/kg and 0 16 mg/kg, respectively The <br /> remaining BTE&X compounds were detected in samples B3-10, 134-10, B5-10 and B6-10 at <br /> concentrations ranging from 0 16 mg/kg of ethylbenzene in sample B3-10 to 310 mg/kg of xylenes <br /> in sample 134--10 MTBE was not detected above laboratory reporting limits in the soil sample <br /> analysis <br /> ' Analytical results of soil samples are snmvnanzed in Table 1 Copies of the laboratory report(MCAT <br /> Lab I D number 46450 through 46457) and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix A <br /> Aduanced GeoEnv1ronm4nt4Inc <br />
