4 Hold the conductor casing in a plumb position and place on the bottom of the <br /> hole Assure that the conductor casing is plumb in the borehole <br /> C Grout Seal Installation <br /> 1 After the conductor casing has been installed and aligned, fill the annular space <br /> between the hole and the conductor casing from the bottom with the grout mix <br /> specified using a grout tremie pipe Do not allow grout to free fall into the well <br /> After grouting operations are completed, leave the concrete undisturbed for a <br /> period of not less than 24 hours <br /> 2 Do not perform further drilling or operate heavy equipment within 20 feet of the <br /> conductor casing during the 24-hour period immediately after the grout seal is <br /> placed <br /> 3 If the borehole collapses at any time, take whatever steps are necessary to <br /> reopen the hole and place the seal as specified Any such remedial action shall <br /> be conducted at the Contractor's expense <br /> SECTION 8 —TEST HOLE DRILLING (Bid Item No A3, 133, A27 & 1327) <br /> PART 1 -GENERAL <br /> 1 01 DESCRIPTION <br /> This section covers the drilling of the test holes by reverse circulation rotary drilling <br /> methods to a depth of 1000 feet No other drilling method will be authorized It also <br /> includes all materials, labor, tools, and equipment required to collect formation samples, <br /> maintain circulation, and protect the test holes from caving <br /> 1 02 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> A Drill 18" Test Hole shall be measured on a linear foot basis, as determined by <br /> vertical length measurements from below the surface casing to the bottom of the <br /> hole The contract unit price paid for Drill 18" Test Hole (Bid Item No s A3 & <br /> B3) shall include full compensation for conforming to these requirements, <br /> furnishing all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals and for doing all <br /> the work involved in Drilling 18" Test Hole including formation sampling, <br /> complete in place, as specified in the Standard Specifications, these special <br /> provisions and as directed by the Engineer and no additional compensation will <br /> be allowed <br /> B Standby Time shall be measured on an hourly basis, as determined by the <br /> nearest quarter of an hour The contract unit price paid for Standby Time (Bid <br /> Item No s A27 & B27) shall include full compensation for conforming to these <br /> requirements, as specified in the Standard Specifications, these special <br /> provisions and as directed by the Engineer and no additional compensation will <br /> be allowed <br /> 1 03 STANDBY <br /> A During the progress of well construction, it may be necessary for the Engineer to <br /> perform work that will require the drilling crew and equipment to stand idle In <br /> such event, the Engineer will request the Contractor in writing to cease <br /> August 2001 Division 111 -9 Ball Park& Park& Ride Wells Ph 1 <br />
