Soil Suitability/ Nitrate Loading Study Irerracan
Soares Property■ Escalon, CA
December 13, 2019 ■ Terracon Project No. NA197095
Terracon searched the DWR online Well Completion Records for additional information regarding
soil lithology within 0.25 miles of the site. The following water supply well was identified nearest
the site.
Table 6.
Well Completion Reports.
Well Number Latitude Longitude Depth Approximate
Feet Distance/Direction from Site
77488W 37.7806 -120.9592 500.0 227 feet northeast
95320 37.7797 -120.9603 345.0 155 feet west
Based on a review of the Well Completion records contained in the EHD records, the soils within
the vadose zone (between 0 and 70 to 80 feet bgs) are anticipated to consist of sand, clay, and
or sand with gravel layers. Refer to Appendix G for a copy of the Well Completion records.
1.6 Percolation Test Information
1.6.1 Percolation Test Locations
Refer to Section 1.5.1 and Appendix A, Exhibit 2.
1.6.2 Number of Percolation Tests
Two percolation tests (B3 and B6) were performed.
1 .6.3 Boring Preparation and Presaturation
The percolation test borings (B3 and 66) were hand augered on November 21, 2019.
Approximately two inches of"pea gravel"was placed in the bottom of the open boring. A 2.0-inch
diameter PVC pipe with perforations towards the bottom was installed on top of the gravel and
the annular space was backfilled with "pea gravel". Presaturation of the percolation test holes
occurred on November 21, 2019 approximately 24 hours prior to the day of testing. The depth of
water used to pre-soak the shallow borings was approximately 1.0 foot above the top of the gravel.
1.6.4 Condition of Borings after Presaturation
Boring B3 and B6 were dry intact after the 24-hour pre-soak period.
1.6.5 Percolation Test Procedure
On November 22, 2019, the percolation test was conducted in accordance with the requirements
of the San Joaquin County Percolation Test Procedure (Form: EHD 42-01-002 Revised 08-23-
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 10
