Specifically, additional data on the
lateral extent of the contamination noted at six feet below ground surface is needed. This
additional data will be used to rule out a potential threat this contamination may pose to the
aquatic ecosystem and the users of the nearby surface water body(it is currently used on the
island for non potable uses).
Therefore, please submit a workplan to PHS-EHD by September 16,1996 to Investigate the
full extent of the contamination evidenced at six feet below ground surface in the area of
the former underground storage tank. PHS-EHD recommends the use of push point
technology to obtain this verification data, as relatively useful groundwater samples can also be
obtained.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this letter in more detail, please contact Linda
Turkatte, Senior REHS, at(209)468-3441.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
E ironmental Health Division
G
Linda A.Turkatte, Senior REHS Margareeagodo, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
LT
c: CVRWQCB, Beth Thayer
c: SJC Office of the District Attorney, David trey
c: Wright Environmental, John Lynch
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
