Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Sent: Friday, October 19, 2012 11:58 AM
To: 'nathan.christman'; 'jean ne.homsey@atcassociates.com'; 'genelle.martin@cardno.com'
Subject: Former Cheaper Store#37
Nathan, Jeanne and Genelle,
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) is initiating the
closure process for the Former Cheaper Store No. 37 at 15 East Grant Line Road in
Tracy, California. The EHD's decision to move this site to closure is based on the
professional opinion expressed by the State Water Resources Control Board Cleanup
Fund Five-year Review that the site should be closed, and the standard of practice
established by the Low Threat Closure Policy that states that the health hazard posed
through vapor intrusion at active fueling stations is negligible compared to those posed
by spills and the fueling operation and need not be evaluated except in extreme
circumstances. For these reasons, the EHD will not approve Work Plan for Limited
Indoor Air Study, dated 12 March 2012, submitted by ATC Associates, Inc. The EHD
directs that all monitoring and sampling at this site be suspended while the site is being
considered for closure.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209) 468-9852
Email: vmccartneyO-sjcehd.com
I
1
I
i
10/19/2012
