(ATC) has prepared this, revised workplan and letter response, on behalf of
The Customer Company, describing proposed subsurface investigation activities to be conducted
at the above referenced site (Figure 1). The purpose of the subsurface investigation is to
evaluate the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater
in the vicinity of the site. This revised workplan and letter response was prepared in response to
a correspondence letter issued by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(SJCEHD) dated June 22, 2009.
The revised scope of work includes: conducting a survey to locate and identify underground
utilities at the site, obtaining drilling permits, obtaining off-site access authorization, advancing
three soil borings at the site, collecting soil and..groundwater samples for chemical analyses, and
preparation of a summary report. One UST was used'to store leaded gasoline and the other UST was used to
store unleaded gasoline. Groundwater was encountered in the UST excavation at approximately
seven feet below ground surface (bgs). .Laboratory analyses of two samples of groundwater
collected from within the excavation indicated the groundwater had been impacted by petroleum
hydrocarbons.
On March 29 and 30, 1988, three monitoring wells (MW-T,MW-2, and MW-3) were installed at.
the site and Kleinfelder conducted a sensitive receptor survey within a 2,000-foot radius of the
site.
