Soil contamination was detected in
samples collected from beneath the tank of up to 7 ppm TPH-gas and 390 ppm total oil and grease.
Subsequently, a re-excavation of the former waste oil tank area began on July 11, 1990. Soil sampling in
the area of the reported location of the product line and pump island also occurred. Water contamination
was detected in the water sample collected from the tank excavation pit of up to 1.8 ppm TPH-gas and 3.4
ppb benzene. Soil contamination was detected in a soil sample collected along the product line of up to
2.6 ppm TPH-gas.
In order to investigate documented soil and groundwater investigation seven soil borings were drilled,
three of which were converted into monitoring wells, MW1, MW2, and MW3. Both soil and groundwater
contamination were detected in samples collected.
The last reported submitted March 27, 1992 by the Environmental Construction Company was entitled
"Phase II Environmental Site Assessment - Report of Findings" and was dated September 1991. This
report proposed further soil re-excavation to remove contaminated soil.
A Division of San Joaquin C.oanry Heatrh Care Services
