02 June 1997
AGE-NC Project No 95-0105
' 2a8 3 LABORATORY RESULTS OF GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLES
t
TPH-g was detected in grab ground water samples collected from probe borings P5 and P6 at
' concentrations of 4,500 ppb and 740,000 ppb, respectively TPH-d was detected in grab ground
water samples from borings P3,P4 and P5 at concentrations as high as 1,400 ppb(P4) Samples from
P1 and P6 were not analyzed for TPH-d because only an inadequate volume of water could be
collected from these probe borings Chromatography of the TPH-g analysis of P6 indicated the
presence of compounds similar to TPH-d, however, confirmation was not possible
' Benzene was detected in the grab water sample from P6 at a concentration of 1,700 ppb, toluene,
ethylbenzene and xylene were detected in samples collected from borings P5 and P6 at
concentrations as high as 83,000 ppb(xylene,P6) Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in the
sample collected from boring PI Analytical results of grab groundwater samples are summarized
on Table 2
' Analytical results of the soil and grab ground water samples collected during the subsurface
investigation in January 1996 were included in the Qua?terly Report-January 1996,dated 15 March
1996, prepared by AGE
2 9 ADDITIONAL MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND SAMPLING
On 10 May 1996, three soil borings were advanced at the site and completed as ground water
monitoring wells Well MW-4 was established to determine the lateral extent of the hydrocarbon-
impacted ground water at the northwest corner of the site in the immediate vicinity of probe boring
P6, while MW-5 was established on the northern edge of the property, and MW-6 was installed in
the sidewalk in the City of Tracy right-of--way north of Grant Line The well locations are shown on
Figure 2
' Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples analyzed from the boring B5, advanced for
the installation of MW-4 The samples were collected from depths of eight and ten feet bsg TPH-g
was detected at concentrations as high as 32 ppm BTE&X compounds were also detected at
concentrations as high as 2 4 ppm Analytical results of soil samples are summarized on Table 1
' Analytical results of the soil samples collected during the monitoring well installation in May 1996
were included in the Quarterly Report-August 1995, date 30 October 1996 and prepared by AGE
x
