California
Resna has perforn-,!d quarterly monitoring at the site since October 1990, however,
end tin
water has riot been present in tite wells since October 1990(Applied GeoSystems,p g)
Analytical results of water samples collected from the five monitoring wells in February 1990
lied Geos sterns.
indicated dissolved hydrocarbons were present in the ground water (App y
1991). Evaluation of the ground water gradient in February 1990 indicated s shown ient f
0.005 to 0.0063 and a direction of ground water flow towards tit
Plate 2 (Applied GeoSystems, 1991).
ree
onal
On the basis of the results of these investigatir^s,we recommended d near drilling
Cehter of the east
borings near the northeast and northwest corners of the
boundary of the site to further evaluate the lateral extent of hydrocarbons in the soil. In
addition,we recommended that vapor-extraction wells be installed in the borings to evaluate
the feasibility of using vapor extraction to remediate tite soil. However,at Unocal's requV. i
' we have modified the previously proposed work to install three deeper monitoring wells to
te tile
evaluate the ground water and the ground water gradient beneath
ifeasibility of usingavapor-
latera! extent of hydrocarbons in the soil, and to evaluate
extraction as a soil remediation alternative.
PROXIMITY OF WELLS AND UTILITIES
According to records obtained from the California Nater Service and the Stockton
Municipal Utilities District there is only one municipal water-suppiy well within 2 000 feet
of the site. This well is at the corner of Bidwell Place and Bianchi Road, approximately
1,800 feet southeast of the site, and is shown on Plate 1. The well is maintained by the
California Water Service.
e
4
✓ 18032-4W
