SOIL SAMPLE VALIDATION INFORMATION
Calscience Work Number: 09-04-0752
Sample: A3-SG3-1
Collection Date: April 4, 2009
Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons—EPA Method 8310
Holding Times
Soil samples have a 14-day analysis holding time requirement. The sample labeled
A3-SG3-1 was analyzed within this time period.
Blanks
The method blank was analyzed with the sample and was contaminate free.
Sensitivity
The sample A3-SG3-1 was diluted by a factor of 50. The RLs were adjusted by this
factor.
Surrogate Spike Recovery
The sample and control samples were spiked with Decafluorobiphenyl prior to analysis.
The surrogate percent recoveries were within the control limit range of the 16-106 %
which indicated that compounds of interest were retained during the analysis procedure
for the sample.
Matrix Spike/Matrix Spike Duplicate
The MS/MSD were analyzed with the samples in the batch. The Laboratory QC indicated
the MS and MSD %recoveries and the RPDs were within the control limits.
Laboratory Control Sample
The percent recoveries of Laboratory Control Sample for all compounds were within the
control limits as stated by Calscience. The LCS samples were analyzed with the same
batch as the sample.
Gasoline for Soil Modified EPA Method—M 8015G
Holding Times
The holding time for the analysis is fourteen days for soil. The sample was analyzed
within this time period meeting this requirement.
Method Blanks
A method blank was analyzed with the sample and no contamination was detected.
Sensitivity
No dilutions were necessary for the A3-SG5-1 sample and therefore the RL was met.
14
