The drilling schedule outlined in the letter report on the subject of the spring 2005
CPT/Hydropunch work(dated July 7,2005)has been difficult to accommodate due to the
unavailability of drillers during the given time frame. Drilling was scheduled for the second week of
September, however, the drill rig scheduled to do the work at the SMS Briners facility broke down
just prior to starting the work and has been in the repair shop since then. Bradley and Sons has no
other replacement drill rigs available and repair of the affected rig is necessary before drilling can
proceed at the SMS site. Changing the drilling company on short notice has been given
consideration, but this was found to be an impractical alternative. Presently,it is anticipated that the
drill rig will be out of commission through the week of October 10th. LSCE will update the Regional
Water Quality Control Board and the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department when
drilling is expected to proceed.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
LUHDORFF AND SCALMANINI
CONSULTING ENGINEERS
Vicki ..
Principal Hydrologist
Cc: Howard Hold,Regional Water Quality Control Board
Robert Chelli, SMS Briners,Inc.
Erik Kruger,Kruger Foods,Inc.
Hans Kruger,Kruger Foods,Inc.
Mike Infuma, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
500 First Street Woodland, CA 95695-4026 • 530.661.0109 Fax 530.661.6506
