Concurrent with closure activities,
WDR compliance requirements relating to corrective action measures include:
• March 25,2005: Submittal of an amended Report of Waste Discharge (RWD) for
corrective action measures. This RWD shall be based on the data collected during the
evaluation-monitoring program investigation;
■ June 1, 2005: Installation of corrective action monitoring wells and extraction wells,
which are not located within the footprint of the existing surface impoundments.
■ November 1, 2005: Installation of corrective action monitoring wells and extractions
wells, which are located within the footprint of the existing surface impoundments.
■ December 1,2005: All approved corrective action measures shall be installed and
operational.
` Corrective actions and related additional submittals planned by Kruger Foods/SMS Briners
are described below. This report responds to the March 25, 2005 WDR compliance
requirement. As described herein, additional site characterization is planned to complete the
CPT investigation comprising the evaluation monitoring program that was implemented last
fall. A modified schedule is shown below to reflect the additional work necessary to
implement groundwater corrective actions and how this work will be coordinated with the
above WDR compliance schedule. The WDR schedule is repeated below in bold as
applicable; the additionally planned activities and/or submittals are italicized.
■ May 1, 2005: Continue CPT investigation. (Preparatory activities to be completed in
advance of May I involve acquiring access to off-site property, probable preparation
of the agricultural field to accommodate drilling equipment due to "soft"or tilled
conditions at each CPT location, and coordinating schedules with the drilling
contractor.) [Schedule may change pending weather and site access.]
■ June 1, 2005: Transmit CPT results in a letter to the RWQCB along with
., confirmation of the planned test well/extraction well location.
• June 15, 2005: Begin test well/extraction well construction.
