i Ms. Wendy Cohen
September 27, 1994
Page 2
It was also requested by the RWQCB that a site plan be constructed summarizing the soil and
groundwater analytical data. This will be prepared by Geomatrix and submitted to the RWQCB by
Monday, October 17, 1994.
.:a
3) It was agreed that the analysis of groundwater samples by EPA Method 8270 (for semi-volatile
organic compounds; SVOC's) will be omitted from future monitoring events. Samples will continue to
be analyzed for TPH (as crude oil) by modified EPA Method 8015, PNA's by EPA Method 8310, and
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes by EPA Method 8020.
4) During the meeting, CPL submitted to the RWQCB Geomatrix's report entitled "Transmittal of
Analytical Results, Samples from Drums and Soil Stockpiles, Dividend Property North Parcel", dated
September 12, 1994. The report describes the sampling and analysis of drummed and stockpiled soils
present at the site. Based on the analytical results, it was proposed by CPL that the stockpiled soils be
- iavpfw_Dlmase r esYwnd ' - your-review`OF the above i
-
referenced document. The disposal of the soil drums will be coordinated by CPL. .
5) Mr. Rick Becker, of the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC),and Mr. Greg Brorby, of
Geomatrix, provided a brief description of the process involving the implementation of a Screening
Health Risk Assessment, as proposed by Geomatrix in their Work Plan dated July 13, 1994. Mr. Becker
explained why a cost recovery contract between the DTSC and CPL is required. He also emphasized that
this contract must be executed prior to the approval of Geomatrix's work plan. CPL provided Mr.
Becker, and other parties, a copy of the "Generic Risk Assessment Review Agreement", along with
CPL's most recent comments, dated.September 23, 1994. Mr. Becker will review and respond to CPL
with comments.
i
Again, I would like to emphasize what a pleasure it was to get together with you and all the other
attendees. Please contact me (805/632-1086) or Mr. Don Culbertson (805/632-1046) with any remarks
or questions with respect to above comments.
I
i
Sincerely,
in B.
