• Water and nonphosphate detergent wash,
• Water rinse,
• Dcionized water final rinse
Soil Samples will be analyzed for the folIowirg
Analyses EPA Method
a TPH as diesel and BTEX 8015,8020 (GC/FID/PID)
All equipment will be free of soil before if leaves the site atter remediation All
rmseate from equipment decontamination will be stored on site in appropriately
labL-led drums.
3.3 Hotspot Excavation
If the confirmation samples obtained within the excavation side walls or within the
grid pattern on the excavation floor indicates hydrocarbon concentrations greater
than the soil cleanup concentration criteria, BAI will further excavate into the area
of each confirmation sample that has concentrations greater than the soil cleanup
objective as stated in Section 3 0 All further excavation will guided by the mobile
laboratory.
If hydrocarbon levels are below the soil cleanup criteria as verified by the
. confirmation sampling, no further excavation will be performed
3.4 Excavation Backfilling
After the remediation parameters have been achieved, BAI will backfill the
excavation with drainage rock to a depth of five feet. The drain rock will be used to
achieve natural compaction of soils particularly in areas below the water table
Filter fabric will be placed over the drawn rock and engineered compacted fill will be
placed to the surface Clean imported backfill will be compacted to 90 percent
relative compaction based on the ASTM D 1557 standard
3.5 Stockpiled Soil Analysis
Analysis of the soil stockpiles will be initiated after completion of the excavation
Sampling will be initiated in order to facilitate off-site disposal of the soil. A
composite soil sample consisting of four discrete samples for each 50 yards of
material will be obtained A state certified analytical laboratory will combine the
four soil samples into one composite at the laboratory Soil will be collected as
described above (Section 3 2) and transported under chain of custody to a certified
analytical laboratory to be analyzed at a minimum for TPH as diesel and BTEX
4
AAL
BRUNSING ASSOCIATES, INC ,®'
