Introduction
On January 16, 1990 the Jim Thorpe Oil Company, a licensed tank
removal company removed the three tanks 39-2441-01,62,03 from
the rear yard of the Tracy Facility of Doan Products. The
contractor was assisted by FGL Laboratory personnel. Sampling
at the time of tank removal indicated the presence of petroleum
hydrocarbons in the soil and seep water at the site The
contractor partially refilled the tank excavations and ceased
all additional remediation. The three tanks were removed from
the site and disposed of properly. (See attached contractor
documents) .
It is the current intention of Doan products and is further the
purpose of this report, to propose the full characterization of
contamination by sampling and laboratory analysis, with complete
remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater as the final
obaective. Doan proposes to use experienced personnel from its
Joplin Missouri headquarters for the necessary labor. Sampling
and analysis will be provided by Eagle-Picher Environmental
Services, a California certified laboratory under the
supervision of the above mentioned corporate environmental
consultant. All plans dnd protocols will be reviewed with a
Calife.nia registered C•eologist and the geologist will be onsite
for all phases of sampling and remediation.
v
2
