KEI-F86-032A
August 11, 1986
MHT-1 was drilled and completed to a total depth of 25. 0 feet.
Free groundwater was encountered at a depth of 16. 0 feet and rose
to 14 .5 feet following well completion. No evidence of petroleum
p-oduczt odor was found.
The well was installed with locking caps and the keys. The
well was developed on June 13, 19OL and the water samples were
taken on June 17, 1986. The well was checked for depth to water
table, presence of odor and floating product. No sheen or free
product as well as odor were noted in the well during our
investigation. Prior to sampling, the well was purged at least
four well-volumes from a surface bailer. Samples were then
collected using a Teflon bailer, decanted into VDA bottles and
stored on ice until delivered to the laboratory.
The results of the analysis and monitoring of the well are in
Table 1.
HYDROGEOLOGY
• Groundwater is present at the site at a depth of 11.0 feet
below the surface. The subsurface formations below the site
consist of silty clay with silty sand at depths of 16 to 19.5
feet. According to the Department of Water Resources, most of the
groundwater in the San Joaquin County is usable.
CONCLUSION AND DISCUSSION
The analytical results show concentrations of disso?ed
hydrocarbons to be below the detection limit. Since no impact on
the groundwater was noted, we recommend no further monitoring at
this time unless the Regulatory Agencies request it
This letter report, consisting of professional opinions and
recommendations, has been made in accordance with generally
accepted professional principles and practices existing for such
work.
