The results of quarterly groundwater sampling conducted at the site over the
past several years reveal that many of.the wells continue to remain below laboratory method detection
limits.(MDL) for dissolved benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), and total petroleum
i
hydrocarbons-as-gasoline (TPH-G). .Wells MW-4, 6, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 have never had dissolved '
hydrocarbon concentrations above the MpLs. Similarly, MW-2, 'MW-3, and MW5 have had only One or
two reported BTEX or TPH-G concentrations at or slightly exceeding the MDLs (Table 1).
E Due to the current monitoring well array, an overcoverage of the "zero-line" for dissolved petroleum
hydrocarbons exists to the north-northeast and south of the dissolved plume center (around MW-10).
€ Groundwater Technology requests approval for abandonment of wells MW-12, MW-13, MW-14, and
MW-15 across the northern extent of the property. The zero-line can be adequately defined in this
area by monitoring and sampling MW-9, which has remained below MDLs for several consecutive
quarters{fable 1). MW-4 to the south (upgradient) of.the plume center has never had reported
concentrations for dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons.and should be abandoned as well.
Of the remaining perimeter wells (MW-2, MW-3,.MW-5, MW-6, and W1 1), it is requested that these
wells.be switched to an annual groundwater sampling schedule due to consistent nondetectable levels. i
The remaining wells at the site would continue tote sampled on a quarterly schedule.
Offices throughout the U.S.,Canada and Overseas q
' - 1
i
