INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Mr Joe Toste Jr , Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE), has prepared flus
Quarterly Report for field activities performed at 2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California The site
setting is illustrated in Figure 1 Monitoring well locations on the site are illustrated in Figure 2
' A detailed background of previous work performed at the site was presented in AGE documents
titled Quarterly Report - March 1996, dated 15 April 1996 and Quarterly Report - March 1999,
' dated 10 May 1999 Monitoring and sample data from January 1994 to the present are summarized
in Tables 1 through 3
' The ground water monitoring activities and the report preparation were conducted in accordance with
the Central Valley Region of the Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) and San
' Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS--EHD) guidelines
'ie 2.0. PROCEDURES
2 1 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
' On 12 September 2000, the water levels in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8 was measured
relative to the tops of the well casings using a Solinst water level meter After water Ievels were
I measured, a disposable bailer was used to purge each well Two to six gallons (a minimum of three
water casing volumes) of water were removed from each well Temperature, pH and conductivity
of the purged ground water were measured at one and two-gallon intervals using a Hydae water
' analyzer during purging The measurements had generally stabilized by the end of the purging
process Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon, Department of Transportation (DOT)-
approved drums Field logs are included in Appendix A
I
2 2 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES AND ANALYTICAL PROTOCOL
' Prior to collection of ground water samples, the depth to ground water was gauged in each purged
well to ensure that a minimum of 80% of the well volume had recharged Water samples were
' collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer Each water sample was transferred
into one 1-liter arriber bottle and three chilled 40-m1 volatile organic analysis(VOA)vials containing
I0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid (HCL) as a sample preservative
• The samples were then labeled and placed in a chilled container for transportation under chain-of-
custody to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI), a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc
I
